About

As Director of Grant Design and Partnerships at Gavi, I oversee how our grants are shaped with countries and how we work with key partners including WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, and civil society organisations. My role brings me close to the decisions that determine how countries use Gavi support and how the full strength of the alliance can be leveraged to expand immunisation and strengthen health systems. Earlier, as Head of Policy, I helped translate strategy into policies that improved access to life saving vaccines for hundreds of millions of children.

With a PhD in molecular biology and decades of experience in global health research, policy, and funding, I understand the complexities of global health. But I believe it shouldn’t take an expert to make sense of it. This belief (and the curiosity of my young kids) led me to start drawing cartoons to explain what I do. What began as a creative outlet has since evolved into a platform for communicating global health with humor, heart, and clarity!

My passions:

➡️ Championing equity: in funding, access, and voice.
➡️ Empowering women: particularly in global health spaces where their perspectives remain underrepresented.

Growing up in a mixed, globally mobile family, I lived across many countries and learned to speak several languages. This global perspective continues to shape how I approach health, policy, and inclusion. I’ve contributed to global health through organizations like Wellcome Trust, Nature, UKCDR, and Science for Africa, working at the intersection of science, policy, funding, and strategy.
